Jane Huh is a Collaborative Lawyer. Jane has extensive experience in designing solutions and surpassing client expectations. The focus of the firm is on the client.
On March 1, 2016, Jane joined Dickson Appell (dicksonlawyers.com). Since 1986, Dickson Appell has distinguished itself by being an all women law firm that provides superior services in family law and estates planning. Indeed, four former partners are now judges.
Family law matters are often messy, complicated and confusing. Jane is dedicated to finding an appropriate resolution whether it is a simple discussion about the smartest and most cost-effective route, or representing her clients through a Collaborative Process, Mediation or Litigation.
Jane’s law practice is founded on the principles of integrity, equanimity and collaboration. As a Collaborative Lawyer, Jane is committed to settlement advocacy and works in an interdisciplinary team of trained Collaborative Financial and Family experts.
For creative enterprises, Jane draws on her past experience working with artists and clients with unique circumstances. She advises sole proprietors, partnerships and incorporations as well as not-for-profit organizations on the most sound legal and business structures. She also assists with business plans, Confidentiality Agreements, Trade Secret and Non-Disclosure Agreements. Jane serves as a Director of The Art Canada Institute.
Prior to law practice, Jane completed a master’s degree in Art History and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. In following, Jane attended the University of Ottawa and Osgoode Hall Law School, then she completed certification training in Interest-based Negotiation and Mediation and in Collaborative Law. Jane is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Collaborative Practice Toronto, Ontario Collaborative Law Federation, and International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
Jane speaks French and Korean fluently. She also reads and understands Spanish, and Italian. Jane’s proficiency in languages gives her insight into culture, communication and negotiation.
